#im sorry #but what #im feared this was the case #but seriously #it took aang 61 episode to get to that point #and even then he was pretty shit at earthbending #and needed some work on firebending #korra got there in 12 episodes#by crying off a cliff #aang had to work hard as shit to get anywhere close to being fully realized #korra pretty much gets given it all #not impressed

i really just don’t understand this entire frustration - why would we want to watch korra doing exactly the same thing that aang already did? aang became fully realized at what, 13? korra was already late by that schedule, and she had mastered all but one of the elements by the time the show started - they obviously made an explicit choice to show a different time in an avatar’s life instead of just retreading the same ground covered in aang’s story
